R. Heath English

Heath has been engaged in the practice of law for over twenty years, primarily as a trial attorney. Heath started his trial experience while still in law school interning with a major insurance carrier and with a circuit District Attorney’s office.  He has an extensive background in both injury law and criminal defense. 

Upson graduation from the University of Georgia, he was trained as a claim’s representative for a major insurance carrier.  While there, he learned the intricacies of insurance defense.  His insurance training includes all aspects of personal injury claims.  This specialized training and experience allows him to receive maximum benefits for his injured and/or deceased clients.  In that regard, the English Law Group, LLC has obtained millions of dollars on behalf of injured clients or families.    

Upon graduation from law school, Mr. English honed his trial skills as an Assistant District Attorney. He has presided over and presented cases at Grand Jury, Arraignments, Motions, Jury trials and Appeals to both the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals for Georgia.  He likewise has appeared in all courts within the Judicial system of Georgia, including Magistrate Court, Probate Court, Juvenile Court, Superior Court, Supreme Court, and Federal Court.  He has been appointed as an Assistant District Attorney, Solicitor, Guardian Ad Litem, and Mentor by the Georgia Supreme Court.    

Currently, he serves as one of the attorneys representing Upson County and as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia.  Heath has been recognized as a Rising Star attorney in the State of Georgia an honor given to less than 2.5 percent of the state’s lawyers.  His primary focus concerns personal injury and criminal defense.  Heath and his wife Jane-Asher, a special education teacher, have four children.
